Misikir lives with her mother and four siblings in an impoverished neighborhood of Addis Ababa. Sadly, her father abandoned her mother during her preganancy, leaving Misikir's mother to provide on her own. Her meager wages as a daily laborer are not enough to meet the needs of the family. Without support, she cannot afford to send Misikir to school, putting her future at risk.
