Makbel is a bright boy who lives with his mother in an impoverished neighborhood of Addis Ababa. Sadly, his parents are separated, and he is raised by a single mother. Her meager wages as a daily laborer are not enough to meet the needs of the family. Without support, she cannot afford to send Makbel to school, putting his future at risk.
