Ethiopia

Hiwot lives with her mother in an impoverished neighborhood of Addis Ababa. Sadly, her parents are separated and she is raised by a single mother. Hiwot's mother's income is very low and inconsistent even though she works hard as a daily laborer. Her mother's earnings are not enough to meet their needs and she cannot afford to pay her school fees. Without support, Hiwot's education is at risk.
